Nugenix Total-T Testosterone Booster Review
Total-T is a testosterone boosting supplement created by American health supplement manufacturer Nugenix, based in West Valley City, Utah.
Nugenix claim that Total-T is an elite formula that boosts your testosterone levels safely. And gives you better results in and out of the gym.
They say it’s made with eight key ingredients and increases power where other supplements fail to deliver.
Nugenix also claim that it maximises your strength, muscle, energy and endurance. And you can take your gym sessions to the next level, apparently.
Nugenix claim that Total-T:
- Boosts your testosterone safely
- Gives you better results in and out of the gym
- Delivers more power where other supplements fall short
- Maximises your strength, muscle, energy and endurance
- Takes your workouts to the next level
- Increases your libido
So let’s see if Nugenix’s boasts hold any water, shall we?
About the Company

Pros and Cons
Here’s where we tell you both the positive and negative aspects of Nugenix’s Total-T testosterone booster.
Nugenix make some confident claims about Total-T, as you’ll see above.
So, of course you want to discover if their claims stand up and what the good points and the bad points are.
Nugenix Total-T’s good points:
- Contains zinc and fenugreek
- Enhances your libido
- Improves your energy levels
- It has anti-aromatase effects (The enzyme aromatase coverts the hormone androgen into oestrogen)
- Contains boron
Nugenix Total-T’s bad points:
- Contains ineffectual ingredients
- Missing core nutrients
- The servings are too small
- Forfeits DHT (dihydrotestosterone) in order to maintain high testosterone levels. Men need both.
- Only has 1 mg of zinc per serving (you need 11mg per day)
- Doesn’t contain vitamin D or magnesium
- Doesn’t include Ashwagandha, which is useful for extra testosterone support
- The capsules are made from gelatine, which won’t suit vegetarians
Total-T doesn’t really contain the type of ingredients that we would ideally like in a testosterone booster.
Some of these ingredients do help increase testosterone but this supplement still needs significant improvement, we feel.
A couple of gripes we have is that it contains proprietary blends and not enough zinc.
Nugenix Total-T is not actually a bad supplement, though, and can indeed improve your male vitality.
You can see a summary below of the main ingredients and suggestions on how they could be improved.
Zinc is important in any testosterone booster but the dosage is too small, at only 1mg.
You need at least 11mg of zinc in a testosterone booster.
Your body uses zinc in your brain’s chemical reactions. These help your brain to synthesize Luteinizing Hormone (LH), the precursor to testosterone and growth hormone.
The more LH you have in your body, the more your testosterone levels are likely to increase.
We’re not sure that L-Citrulline Malate is a worthwhile addition to Total-T.
L-Citrullline Malate converts to L-Arginine in your body. L-Arginine increases your nitric oxide levels, which enhances your blood flow and muscle pumps.
You need about 6-8g of L-Citrulline Malate for optimum results. Total-T only contains 1125mg and this is not enough for you to get the best results in your performance.
L-Citrulline Malate does not directly boost your testosterone levels either.
Fenugreek is another great ingredient for a testosterone booster.
It helps increase your testosterone by creating the right hormonal environment. It does this by controlling your blood sugar and insulin levels.
High insulin levels can decrease your testosterone levels. This is known as homeostasis.
If you have more of one hormone, consequently you have less of another. In homeostasis, the higher your levels of insulin, the lower your levels of testosterone will be.
Fenugreek controls your insulin levels, enabling your body to increase testosterone.
Ancient Peat & Apple Fruit Extract (elevATP)
Ancient Peat & Apple Fruit extract boosts your levels of ATP, similar to the action of creatine.
Your muscles use creatine for energy.
Ancient Peat & Apple Fruit Extract does nothing to increase your testosterone levels, but it’s a pleasing addition to Total-T.
Eurycoma Longifolia is widely claimed to increase your testosterone.
Research has shown that it increases libido and testosterone in rats. Unfortunately though, no studies have demonstrated the same in humans.
Eurycoma Longifolia can enhance your libido but it hasn’t been shown, as yet, to increase your testosterone levels.
Boron helps to increase your testosterone levels by decreasing your oestradiol levels. Oestradiol is a form of oestrogen, the female hormone.
This makes boron a useful addition to Total-T.
Side-Effects of Nugenix Total-T
Nugenix Total-T doesn’t appear to have any side-effects.
It contains all-natural ingredients and they’re all included at sensible dosages. None of the ingredients have been shown to cause undesired side-effects.
Despite this, it’s sensible to speak to your doctor before taking it if you have any worries.
How to Take Nugenix Total-T
You should take three capsules of Total-T per day. You can take it with or without food.
If you have a serious medical condition you should consult a doctor before taking.
You should also consult a doctor if you are taking any medications which may be affected by Nugenix Total-T.
Total-T costs $69.99 (about £54.97) on the Nugenix website. You can also get it from Amazon for between $63 and $66 (about £49.48 to £51.83).
It’s one of the priciest testosterone boosters out there.
Is Nugenix Total-T Good Value for Money?
We can’t recommend Total-T as good value for money, unfortunately.
At this price it should give you the best ingredients available. And their benefits should be endorsed by human clinical trials, which they’re not.
The daily serving of Total-T is too small and some of the ingredients are ineffective. Perhaps a few adjustments could make Total-T much more potent.
Total-T remains one of the best-selling testosterone boosters on the market, though.
This may be because it uses trusted ingredients in decent amounts. And people seem to really like the energy and libido boost it gives them.
We think, however, that it needs to be much better to justify its high price tag.
