Ingredient Breakdown

KSM-66 Ashwagandha Extract (600mg)

Ashwagandha is a medicinal Ayurvedic herb. It has been used for over three thousand years to reduce stress and anxiety, boost cognitive function, and support a healthy weight.

In recent times, it can be found in many vitality supplements. And that’s because its benefits have been proven time and time again in modern studies. Its benefits are thought to be due to its high concentration of withanolides, which are potent anti-inflammatories. It is also an adaptogen and works to strengthen your body’s nervous systems to aid sleep, improve your body’s reaction to stress, and relieve anxiety.

KSM-66 Ashwagandha LYMA’s patented form claims to be the most bioavailable form on the market with the highest percentage of withanolides. They achieve this with a special extraction process.

They provide us with 15 clinical studies to back up their claims – however, they are actually about Ashwagandha in general, which makes us question what there is to back up their claim that their form of Ashwagandha is better than any other?

Cynatine HNS (250mg)

This is a patented form of Keratin, which has proven benefits to hair, nails, and skin. It is a common and well-studied supplement.

LYMA has created a patented form which they claim is more bioavailable than other products on the market, although they also inform us that it will take 90 days of taking the supplement to see any results.

While other keratin supplements are often derived from waste products like fish scales and feathers, Cynatine HNS is derived from sheep’s wool and contains a highly preserved amino acid profile.

And unlike Ashwagandha, they do provide us with a study based on their patented form. It concluded that it is an effective supplement for hair, nails, and skin, although it does not compare to other forms of Keratin.

Cognizin (250mg)

Cognizin is a patented form of citicoline, a building block of cell membranes that improves cognitive function and memory.

LYMA’s form – Cognizin, has not been synthetically made like many other supplements. Instead, it has been manufactured through a patented fermentation process.

This time we are provided with three studies on their patented form, one of these studies showed an increase in brain energy (ATP) by 14%.

Lycored Lycopene (30mg)

Lycored Lycopene is the patented version of Lycopene

Lycored naturally occurs in certain fruits and vegetables. It is a powerful antioxidant that has been shown to improve the health of your skin, cardiovascular system, vision, prostate, and bones. However, some studies have shown that you experience its benefits more effectively from food.

Is this patented version any better? Well, they claim that their version is more effective. They also claim that over 20 peer-reviewed studies have been completed to show its effectiveness. But for some reason, we are only provided with four studies on their site – and non on their patented form.

Hydrocurc (250mg)

Hydrocurc is a patented form of Curcuma longa extract, a form of curcumin. Curcumin is the main actiove ingredient in Tumeric. Many of the health benefits associated with turmeric are because of curcumin – it improves brain function, mood and is a natural anti-inflammatory.

Many cheap turmeric supplements on the market contain low levels of curcumin which makes them less effective. This patented form is has a high dose of bioavailable curcumin.

The Wellmune (250mg)

The Wellmune is standardized and validated 1-3, 1-6 beta-glucan. It is said to provide immune system support and improve resistance to allergies. Beta-glucans are types of fiber found in the cells of certain types of algae, yeast, bacteria, and fungi. But unless they are in the proper structure, they are ineffective.

K2Vital (75ug)

A patented version of vitamin K., The importance of vitamin K has been realized in recent years with benefits to heart and bone health and cognitive function.

Vita-algae D3 (2,000iu)

Vitamin D has many benefits to your mood. This version is derived from algae and is given at a much higher dose than you will usually find in supplements. This could be controversial. However, there is evidence that vitamin D can be highly beneficial at this strong dose.

Afron (28mg)

A patented form of highly concentrated saffron. Saffron is a powerful antioxidant that has benefits for mood and focus.

And for this ingredient, we are provided with three studies for their patented form.

Price and Value for Money

At $269 for a month’s supply, this is about as expensive as a supplement gets. Forms of the  ingredients are commonly found in some form in other, cheaper products.

However, LYMA claim that their special patented forms are worth the high price tag. They are said to be more bioavailable and effective. If true, then perhaps it is worth the price tag. However, is there enough evidence to back up their claims?

Conclusion.

Everything from the pills, the pot they come in, and their website are all very beautiful. But that doesn’t necessarily be a better product – just clever marketing.

That being said, LYMA includes some great ingredients and has many amazing reviews on its website. All of the ingredients come with a lot of backing, and people have benefited from their effects.

They claim that their patented versions of ingredients are more bioavailable than other forms so that you can truly benefit from their properties. If true, perhaps it is worth the higher price tag. After all, if you are not absorbing an ingredient properly, then your money is wasted!
