Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch Review

Pre workouts are the first port of call for throbbing muscle pumps, scary focus and insane new performance. But, so many products still get it wrong. This Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch Review will take a look at this pre workout and see if it delivers on the promise of nest level strength and performance. Ignition is Axe and Sledge’s primary pre workout drink that contains stimulants.  It’s blend is pretty concise but does contain good proven ingredients so should deliver some good results. Axe and Sledge is a new supplements company set up by IFBB competitor Seth Feroce. This instills a bit of confidence in the product, and it does look pretty cool. But the proof is going to the in the pump (and energy and focus).

How Will Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch Work?

The formula in Axe and Sledge contains a good amount of natural ingredients at a reasonable dose. But mixed in there are a few more potent elements that could cause a bit of an issue with some of the non stim users. If you’re looking to avoid stimulants in your pre workout, they do offer a no stim version. In the top part of the supplement facts you’ll see the core vitamins that are widely used in most pre workout blends to help optimize metabolism and energy taken in from calories. The main part of the blend is where you get into the full effect of a product and Axe and Sledges pre workout has a fairly focused list of ingredients.

Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch Ingredients

Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch Pre Workout Ingredients

L-Citrulline

Essential in a pre workout to help increase blood flow and vascularity. This does this by increasing the amount of nitric oxide in your blood. As this happens your blood vessels dilate and more nutrients can get to your muscles. In short this gives you a pump.

Beta Alanine

For us this is the big let down ingredient in Ignition Switch pre workout. Generally most supplements we try when we review have large doses of this ingredient. It causes parathesia, the horrible itching sensation you get as you workout. It can improve performance, but the side effects definitely outweigh the results.

Beet Juice Powder

This can work in a similar way to L-Citrulline and will get you a good solid pump from a completely natural source. It features as part of the blend in our tried and tested #1 pre workout.

Agmatine Sulfate

Sometimes referred to as super argenine, this is the pre cursor to L-citrulline. The issue though, is that arginine doesn’t make it through the stomach and is processed and largely wasted. It’s not as effective as it should be.

Caffeine

An essential pre workout ingredient. Caffeine can improve focus, boost metabolic rate and also improve muscle endurance. Remember it’s a stimulant so don’t take it too close to bed! (Duh)

Choline

Choline is a natural vitamin that can help with normal liver function. It can aid the nitrous oxide production in the liver which in turn can benefit performance. If you are eating a normal healthy diet though, chances are you’ll be getting enough Choline from food.

Methylliberine

This is an isolate that founds in coffee beans and various teas. It can function in a similar way to caffeine. It’s not really needed in this supplement given the caffeine content already.

Theacrine

A purine alkaloid found in some teas. Theacrine is fairly new on the supplement scene when compared with caffeine and creatine. But it does look to be a promising cognition enhancer and may provide some physical benefits.

Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch Side Effects

There’s a limited number of ingredients that will cause side effects in Axe and Sledge’s Stim pre workout. One major flaw in this pre workout for us is the use of Beta Alanine which is known to cause that fucking awful skin tingling feeling that can distract you heavily from your workout. Another ingredient to be wary of is the use of Methylliberine and caffeine. Here’s the potential side effects from Axe and Sledge Ignition pre workout:
  • Jitters
  • Energy crashes
  • Paresthesia (Skin tingling)
  • Upset stomach

Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch Dose

Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch Ignition Dose Dose wise you can half scoop this pre workout to get a medium amount of the pre workout ingredients and stims, but if you double scoop you can get more an extreme version of all the pre workout effects. Double scooping could lead to the beta alanine driving you crazy though, so be wary with this as it may impact your performance in a negative way. Most other ingredients are dosed well though, and you shouldn’t have any massive issues with this supplement.
AS A DIETARY SUPPLEMENT, MIX 1 SCOOP WITH 8-10 OZ. OF COLD WATER. CONSUME 15 TO 30 MINUTES BEFORE EXERCISING. DO NOT TAKE ANY OTHER PRODUCTS THAT CONTAIN CAFFEINE OR ANY OTHER STIMULANTS WHILE TAKING IGNITION SWITCH.

Buy Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch

You can buy Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch direct from their website! As it’s a pretty cool looking supplement and a fairly good pre workout we’re sure it’ll be available at other retailers far and wide soon also. Other products you can get from Axe and Sledge Supplements is a natural fat burner called Double Time which we’ve reviewed here.

Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch Review Results and Effects

Ignition Switch is a pretty solid pre workout. It uses well dosed ingredients that are mostly natural and proven to work. In terms of effects you should get a good amount of focus and energy from this pre workout. But the fact it’s slightly heavy handed on the stimulants could leave with a few unwanted side effects. After you take a scoop, you’ll probably start to feel the effects of beta alanine within 30 minutes. This will pass, but can be pretty unbearable. All in all Axe and Sledge Ignition Switch isn’t a bad pre workout, but it doesn’t quite make it onto our top 5 list due to the risks with the rather annoying side effects and fairly hefty price tag. If you’re looking for a clean pre workout that balances focused energy and intense pumps, you should be taking a look at our top 5 list.

This is ok…but what’s better?
