Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Boron is good for bone health
  • Boswellia Serrata helps with joint pain
  • Transparent label

Cons

  • Lack of some core ingredients (e.g. turmeric)
  • Decent for acute joint pain, but it’s less effective for flexibility
  • Overpriced – $69.95 for only three basic ingredients

How Does Be Flexible Supplement Work?

Be Flexible claims to be the “first ever drug-free solution” to joint pain and other similar problems.

It contains a natural blend of two branded ingredients – Phyto-Boron and Bio-Boswellia. The more advanced Be Flexible version also contains ginger.

According to the marketing material of Thera Botanics, Be Flexible provides:

  • Natural joint Nutrition
  • Support for healthy cartillage
  • Support for joint function and flexibility

They also claim that this particular supplement works “20 times faster” than other popular joint health supplements, such as Chondroitin and Glucosamine.

But how accurate are these claims? Can the ingredients in Be Flexible actually give you the benefits that you’re promised?

Let’s check the ingredients to find out.

You’ll notice that the ingredient label of Be Flexible has no proprietary blends. This is great, it means we can see all that’s inside of this supplement and know how much we’re taking.

One downside is, the entire Be Flexible formula only contains 3 ingredients. It’s also missing some of the essentials (detailed in the next section).

So, let’s have a look at the formula to see whether the ingredients can do what the marketing material says it does.

PhytoBoron (Calcium Fructoborate) (216mg)

This ingredient is a combination of boron and calcium carbonate. Boron in itself is a decent ingredient. It can improve bone health as you age, however, it doesn’t necessarily improve flexibility. [2] So in that regard, better ingredients could be put in its stead – such as curcumin.

PhytoBoron has been proven to help with joint pain, which makes it a viable alternative to expensive and unproven pharmaceutical products.

It may also provide other benefits such as improved blood circulation, increased energy levels, better sleep, and relief from depression.

PhytoBoron has been shown to have no side effects when taken at recommended dosages. This makes it a much safer option than pharmaceuticals for those suffering from joint pain.

Boswellia Serrata (100mg)

This is a gum resin found in the Boswellia Serrata tree, also called Indian Frankincense. Its most popular usage is as aromatic and medicine. In terms of its medicinal properties, it Boswellia Serrata contains active compounds called boswellic acids, which can reduce an enzyme in your body called 5-Lipoxygenase. This, coupled with its effects on the inflammatory protein NF-kB, can help you have less sore joints. This is a good ingredient, although it might not be as effective as other options when it comes to actual joint flexibility. [1]

Boswellia Serrata is a plant extract that has been used in traditional medicine for centuries. It has been found to be effective when it comes to joint care.

It is common for someone who suffers from joint pain and inflammation to have limited options. These individuals often find relief in the use of Boswellia serrata extract as this extract can significantly reduce inflammation and pain.

There are many benefits that come with using this extract such as being able to get back into a normal routine, moving around without discomfort, and reducing the risk of degenerative conditions in the future.

Ginger Extract (30mg)

Ginger is a well-known ingredient. It’s been traditionally used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for its rejuvenating qualities. Ginger helps soothe your digestion, it improves blood flow throughout your body, and can help with headaches as well. Ginger is one of our favorite ingredients for improving joint health and longevity too, as it has some interesting anti-inflammatory benefits. [3]

Ginger extract has been proven to have anti-inflammatory properties which can bring relief from joint pain. The ginger extract also helps speed up the healing process and reduces our chances of an infection

Ginger Extract for Joint Care contains two key ingredients that help in joint care. These two ingredients are turmeric and ginger root extract. Turmeric is a spice that can be found in both Indian food and many other cuisines around the world, while ginger root extract is taken from the ginger plant’s roots.

The main benefits of taking Ginger Extract for Joint Care are relief from joint pain and the ability to speed up healing along with reducing our chances of an infection.

Anything Missing?

When it comes to flexibility, a lot can be added to Be Flexible to make it better.

Mainly, it’s missing two key ingredients:

  • Turmeric
  • Black Pepper

Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory spice. Thanks to its active compound, curcumin, turmeric can significantly reduce inflammation in your body and make your joints more robust and healthy as you age. [5]

Black pepper has its own benefits, but the main reason we’re looking for a supplement that uses it is that it enhances absorption of other ingredients its paired with. For example, pairing black pepper and turmeric can increase the absorption of turmeric’s active compounds by up to 2,000%. [4]

How to Take (Dosage)

Be Flexible comes in 30 capsule bottles and you’re supposed to take 1 capsule per day.

So basically, it’s as simple as it gets. Just remember to take it with your meals as some of the compounds in it absorb better in fat.

Side Effects

If you’ve been with us in this Be Flexible review, then you’ll know we’re talking about a fairly safe supplement.

The ingredients in the Be Flexible joint supplement are all-natural and commonly used throughout the world. As a result, you shouldn’t get any serious side effects from using it.

Still, ginger can lead to stomach upset (ironically) in some people, and boron can cause diarrhea and feces discoloration in rare cases.

Price and Value For Money?

As you’ve seen in the intro, there are two types of Thera Botanics Be Flexible available – the $59.95 option, and the $69.95. Plus shipping and handling.

The other option is more expensive because it contains ginger, in addition to boron and Boswellia Serrata.

Regardless, we feel that both options are overpriced. For this kind of money, you’d expect more proven ingredients. The basic version only has two ingredients, and the more expensive Be Flexible supplement has three.

This is much more expensive than some of the best joint & flexibility supplements out there. And not quite as good value for money.

Our Conclusion to Be Flexible Review

So that concludes our Thera Botanics Be Flexible review.

It’s a supplement with 3 ingredients, our favorite one being ginger because it helps with inflammation.

The other two ingredients, boron and Boswellia Serrata, are also decent, although they might not be as effective at improving actual flexibility.

We think that a few extra ingredients could’ve been added to make it better. Especially considering the high price. This is why it scores a little below what we expected from it.

I purchased this in response to a slick TV ad, which mislead me to believe that the product offering would only cost the $9.95 shipping fee. As the product did NOTHING to alleviate my joint pain, I opted to cancel the future shipment, and called Be Flexible. I was informed that the $79.90 product charge would be discounted by 25%; I stated that the TV ad mentioned NOTHING about $79.90. I was informed that I would be refunded my “purchase price” if I returned the unused product, at MY COST. This is a scam, in my opinion, nothing more!
