Cutting the BS – Interview with protein company: No Cow

Are you in search of natural, high-quality, and nutritionally-balanced protein products? If so, listen up – Supplement Devil has some great news for you! There is an answer to your prayers, and it comes in the form of No Cow – a company which produces products with no cow, no bull, and no whey! (And that taste f*cking good!)

Founded by Daniel Katz when he was aged just 18, No Cow is a nutrition company which was created to fill a void in the market. What is this void? you ask.

Well, it just so happened that a vegan protein bar with a decent macronutrient profile and no added dairy was not available on the market.

In order to address this, Katz set about creating a protein bar which ticked all of these boxes. Low and behold, the No Cow protein bar was born!

No Cow Standards

History of No Cow

As we mentioned earlier, company founder Daniel Katz was aged just 18 when No Cow was created. Originally known as D’s Naturals, No Cow tasked themselves with creating a vegan protein bar which provided a good nutrition boost for active individuals.

There are far too many products which are loaded with sugar, high in fat, and are just generally poor macronutrient wise. So, No Cow took it upon themselves to combat this issue. Here’s what they had to say:

“Your body needs protein. What it doesn’t need is a bunch of sugar and junk that weighs you down. No Cow delivers high-quality, non-dairy protein with ridiculously low sugar. Oh, and did we mention big taste without the grit. Make your macros count.

What Do They Have to Offer?

While the product range of No Cow is limited for now, the products that they do offer are of a high quality. They’re the perfect option for those in search of a vegan protein bar which promises a no bulls**t recipe. Each of the bars features at least 20g of protein, while there is just 1g of sugar per bar.

In terms of their protein bars, there are plenty of different flavors available to choose from. Each of them sounds just as delicious as the last – here at the flavors at your disposal:

  • Carrot Cake
  • Chunky Peanut Butter
  • Chocolate Fudge Brownie
  • Mint Cacao Chip
  • Raspberry Truffle
  • Blueberry Cobbler
  • Lemon Meringue Pie
  • Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip
  • Chocolate Coconut
  • Vanilla Caramel

Now, if none of those flavors sound tempting to you, then we’re just sure what will! But, the fact that there are so many flavors to choose from means you’re sure to like at least one of them. You can either purchase a full box of one flavor or even opt for a variety pack which features 8 bars.

Howefver, if protein bars aren’t really your thing, then there are also protein cookies available in multiple flavors too. This includes Snickerdoodle and Peanut Butter.

Finally, there’s the No Cow energy bars available to choose from – each providing a hit of 12g protein and 1g of sugar.

Cutting the Bull, Our Interview with NoCow

Do you think plant based protein is the future for fitness?

Knowing that over half of the population has a dairy sensitivity and can’t digest whey – I can definitely see plant-based protein becoming more and more popular within the fitness industry. More and more people are paying attention to what goes into their body and how it makes them feel and plant-based protein is a great option.

What does the future hold for No Cow?

We’re always going to focus on products that are dairy free, high protein and contain only 1g of sugar so the future is looking bright no matter what we do!

If you could have any athlete represent the No Cow brand who would it be?
I don’t think it’d be just one athlete. Our products are meant to be a better alternative for those putting in the work to achieve their fitness goals – which can mean something different to everyone. I created these products out of a personal need and now we’re continuing to innovate for all athletes out there – whether they want an Olympic gold medal or to win their next fitness competition.

What can people expect your next product to be? 😉

We JUST launched our NEW No Cow Energy Bars which contain 45 mg of caffeine and only 1g of sugar in each bar. We wanted to create an energy bar that wasn’t just a candy bar in disguise so we focused on creating a dairy free, high protein product with only 1g of sugar AND that added caffeine from a patented coffee bean flour.

Your recipes are amazing, can we expect a cookbook?

We’re all about providing the fuel people need for their active lifestyles and we’re lucky our bars can be used in so many ways but a cookbook is not a priority for us at this time.

Where do you want to see No Cow in 10 years?

In every store, on every shelf of course.
